When Life Switches to Autopilot (and You Don’t Even Notice It)
Few people talk about this, yet we all experience it.
In our twenties and thirties, we just keep going: work, family, kids, responsibilities, rushing from one thing to another. Without noticing we repeat the same thoughts, the same emotions, the same patterns — every single day.
Joe Dispenza calls this autopilot living, when “your body becomes the mind.”
And it’s exactly what Tony Robbins warns about when he says that most people react to life instead of creating it.
Then one day something breaks the spell:
- A morning you wake up tired.
- A sudden pain.
- A loss.
- A birthday with a 4 at the front.
And for the first time, you pause and ask yourself:
“Is this really how I want to live?
Or could the next chapter be different?”
That question… is the beginning of awakening.
The Body — Never Just Decoration… Always a Companion
Something shifts in us after 35–40. We look at our body not as something to “fix” — but as something to protect.
Strong. Reliable. Energetic. Alive.
As Peter Attia often says:
“The goal isn’t to live long. The goal is to maximize your healthspan.”
And suddenly it clicks:
Your body was always there for you. Always working for you.
- When you played football and fell — it healed.
- When you danced until sunrise — it kept you going.
- When you pushed too hard — it carried the weight.
- When you stressed — your brain still solved the day.
- Your heart always beat for you.
- Your lungs always kept the rhythm.
You didn’t always care for your body. But it always cared for you.
At 40, you understand:
You weren’t given “a body.”
You were given a partner — one partner — and it’s time to honor it.
A concept Andrew Huberman explains perfectly:
“The body listens to every message you send it — through action, habit, and attention.”
You’re Not Alone — Others Are Just Afraid to Say It Out Loud
When you start taking care of yourself, people often react with suspicion or judgment.
It happened to me too.
When they saw how many supplements I take:
“That’s too much.”
When I went running regularly:
“You’ll ruin your knees.”
“Be careful after 50.”
But this isn’t malice.
This is fear.
As Lewis Howes often explains:
“Most criticism is a reflection of someone else’s insecurities.”
People fear change because:
- comfort feels safer
- failure feels terrifying
- judgment feels unbearable
- “What if I try… and I can’t do it?”
So instead of starting their own journey, they comment on yours.
But deep inside?
They want exactly what you want.
They’re just afraid to take the first step.
Jay Shetty captures it well:
“We’re all seeking growth, but many are scared of the discomfort that comes before it.”
The Real Reason: You Want to Be Here. Long. Well. Fully.
People who begin taking their health seriously after 35–40 aren’t motivated by vanity.
It’s something far deeper:
- You want to live longer.
- Be present.
- Feel strong.
- Have energy.
- Stay mobile.
- Stay youthful — from the inside out.
- Show up for the people you love.
You don’t need to look 20 at 80. But you do want to be 80 and still living a life worth living.
Steven Bartlett describes it beautifully:
“The real flex is being healthy, disciplined, and here for the long run.”
And honestly:
If you look 50 at 80 — that’s not vanity.
That’s proof that you lived intentionally.
This is not aesthetic obsession.
This is life-affirmation.
Long-term responsibility.
The deepest form of self-love.
True prevention.
Many of Us Feel This — We Were Just Walking Separate Paths
This is the part people underestimate.
You are NOT alone in this feeling.
Not even close.
Many are waking up.
Many are rethinking their life.
Many are embracing longevity.
But we haven’t had:
- A place to meet.
- A space to talk.
- A forum to ask the questions that really matter.
Not because we’re ashamed.
But because we haven’t found each other yet.
As Steven Bartlett says:
“We become who we surround ourselves with — so choose people who want to grow.”
This is exactly why the EssenzaVital Longevity Club was born.
To bring us together.
